May the road rise to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
While looking for Irish wisdom, I read that the translation of the first line should actually read “May you succeed on your road.” I loved this! To me this says if you follow your path, it may not be easy, but you will succeed. The image that comes to mind when I read “May the road rise to meet you.” says it will be easy, but we know in life things are not often easy. We would love to have money in the bank without working, our perfect job right as we start our career or be our ideal size and weight without exercise or watching our food choices, but that is not reality. It takes effort to achieve our goals. This translation does not imply that it will not require effort, but it says it will be successful. It also says “Your road”, not your boss’s road, not your employer’s road, not your mother-in-law’s road nor your neighbor’s. It’s your road, your journey and your success.
Are you ready for the journey? If you are, I am here to help you find your road, your path and your success. When you are ready, we should connect.
