Executive Women Do You Want to Do More with Less?

It’s February. Has 2022 already left you exhausted? Are you still exhausted from 2021?

If you are, you are not alone!

It is a vicious cycle. You push to finish the year strong and then have to start all over.

It is like taxes!

You satisfy certain obligations as the year progresses and come January 1st you are back to zero and more money is coming out of your paycheck.

You feel like you are not getting ahead. Goals reset. Budgets reset.

Do more this year with less resource!

You think, I barely got everything done last year and now you want more!

The demands for more revenue, more productivity, greater efficiency never stop. The only area where less is wanted is expenses, but costs are rising.

I am running on empty; my team is running on empty; patience is running thin at home.

Family demands increase. Parents are aging, kids are getting older and the guidance they need is more complex.

We are still dealing with the uncertainties around the pandemic making it hard to plan things, but we need to get back to events and activities. It’s more challenging.

Are you experiencing?

–       More stress

–       More demands

–       More challenges

–       More costs

You are not alone.

Cross legged mediation on your desk is not required!

Would you like to have?

–       More calm

–       More quiet

–       More rest

–       More satisfaction

–       More time

If you are thinking, of course, but that’s not going to happen. Think again!

You can have these things and no it does not require running away to a deserted island!

Of course, I am still hoping to get to go to Fantasy Island one day. But TV in the 80s was not about reality!

This is reality. Life is demanding, but you do have control.

How, it’s a mental game. Start by getting your thoughts heading in the right direction so the day can follow.

If you want more calm, find a few minutes each day to do something that returns you to center.

I know that sounds ‘coachy’, so let me explain.

This could be meditation, a few deep breaths, a walk focusing on the beauty of the sky, the buildings or the landscape if you are somewhere not covered in snow!

Maybe it’s listing to a song that mellows you out. Calm comes from within.

Yes, essential oils and scents help, but that is not enough. If it was, we would be walking around spraying each other with scents all day!

If you want more rest, turn off your mind and get to bed on time!

Almost everything on our to-do lists can wait until the next day. So, if the laundry sits in the dryer one day, it’s okay. Get to sleep. Put your phone away 30 minutes before bed, let it charge in another room. When we were kids, we had ‘lights out. Bring it back.

If you want more satisfaction, look at your lists of tasks.

What can you delegate, outsource or re-align to someone that enjoys it more?

My cleaning lady was passionate about her work. The 11-year-old next door actually likes to mop, does your child? Is your teenager leaving for college soon, they need to learn life skills, delegate it!

If it drains you, re-assign it!

If you want more time, look at your calendar and make sure you are spending time on the things that relate to your top priorities.

If it is not a priority now, push it back or delegate it.

Treat your time like you are taking cash out of your wallet!

If you are not willing to spend cash, then do not spend your time.

Ready to make a change and break the cycle, let’s chat.
